Band
Welcome to the award-winning DFMS band! Membership in the 8th grade band and 7th grade continuing band is open to all students with previous band experience. Rising 7th grade students who have not played a wind or percussion instrument previously may register for beginning band.
Each year, the band students participate in a variety of performances, including a winter and spring concert, state performance assessment, and the Carowinds Music Festival. Through participation in the band, students improve their communication and leadership skills while learning musicianship, teamwork, responsibility, cooperation, and collaboration.
